In spite of being each other’s main competition, 3 major players in the grocery business on Vancouver Island- Quality Foods, Country Grocer and Thrifty Foods– have joined together to collaborate on the Vancouver Island Economic Alliance‘s pilot project to increase awareness and demand for Island food products.
This pilot project exploring the potential for using ‘Made on Vancouver Island’ on products and at point of purchase to heighten awareness and increase sales of Vancouver Island goods at grocery stores.
While the ‘Made on Vancouver Island’ brand could also be applied to a broad range of products including furniture and robotics, the initial focus of this project is agri-food and seafood.
