Vancouver Island Health Authority
The Island Health (formerly known as the Vancouver Island Health Authority) provides healthcare services through a network of hospitals, clinics, centres, health units, and residential facilities on Vancouver Island, the Islands in the Georgia and Johnstone Straits, and in the mainland communities north of Powell River and south of Rivers Inlet. Island Health oversees:
- Over 22,000 staff
- 6,000 volunteers
- Over 150 facilities, including over 1,700 rehab and acute care beds
