What is the
ECONOMIC SUMMIT?

The Vancouver Island State of the Island Economic Summit is heading into its 11th year. Since 2007, the summit has been providing a venue and a forum for businesses and stakeholders on Vancouver Island to learn about and understand the State of the Island Economy. Youth, First Nations, Political Leaders, Business Leaders, Small Business and other inspirational leaders on Vancouver Island participate in championing actions that will position Vancouver Island in the Global Marketplace.

What is the state of the island economic summit?

 

The Economic Summit is an annual gathering of business, community and government leaders sharing ideas, asking questions, networking, learning about new initiatives, and exploring opportunities. Anyone is welcomed to register and participate in the broad range of sessions which revolve around VIEA’s core principals of collaboration to add vitality to the Vancouver Island economy: 

  • promoting a sustainable and diversified economy for all residents of Vancouver Island economic region;
  • promoting strong communities and First Nations along with careful stewardship of our natural resources;
  • providing regional leadership for regional business attraction, retention and expansion;
  • promoting regional initiatives that strengthens economic capacity;
  • positioning Vancouver Island as an attractive option for business investment;
  • fostering regional economic growth and diversification.

How do I register?

 

Registration for the 11th Annual State of the Island Economic Summit, scheduled for October 25 & 26, 2017 at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre will open in the Spring of 2017. Please register for the VIEA newsletter to receive updates on the summit and other news.

What happens at the economic summit?

 

The 2017 itinerary is currently being planned. To view the schedule for the 2016 Summit, s ee ‘Summit Schedule‘ page.

The Economic Summit provides opportunity for businesses and stakeholders on Vancouver Island to work together on solutions to overcome common challenges and to collaborate on projects with potential for positive long-term regional impact.

You can look forward to a number of high profile keynote speakers, discussion sessions on emerging economic issues and opportunities, as well as networking exposure for your business, project or community initiatives with Vancouver Island leaders.

Receive regular Summit announcements and other information pertinent to the Island economy by signing up to receive our e-news.

Who should attend?

 

Anyone with interest and investment in the Vancouver Island economy & the future outlook of Vancouver Island. Everyone participating will receive a complimentary copy of the 3rd annual ‘State of the Island Economic Report’.
