1. What excites you about the annual State of the Island Economic Summit and what conversation are you most looking forward to having at this year’s Summit?
I’m looking forward to re-connecting with so many passionate Vancouver Islanders and learning about what the pandemic has taught them – both personally and professionally.
2. What do you wish other people knew about VIEA and what role do you see VIEA playing in helping to advance the Island region through economic recovery and beyond?
VIEA is truly unique in its ability to bring together private, public and non-profit sectors. VIEA can continue to build on its strong network to enable communities large and small, urban and rural to build and strengthen Vancouver Island’s economy.
3. What advice do you have for other leaders on Vancouver Island as we approach the end of 2020 and look ahead to 2021?
Seize the silver lining created by all this uncertainty to take a deep, hard look at what was working and what wasn’t working in your business or organization, or in your neighbourhood or community. What needs to change so we can build back better? Then – be bold and start a conversation that matters!
