Nanaimo and the surrounding mid-Island region benefit from a dynamic economy that blends tradition and modernity, as well as rural and urban influences. From its roots in resource-based industries such as mining, forestry, and fishing to its expanding sectors in technology, tourism, healthcare, and education, the region thrives due to its resilience, innovation, and strong community spirit.
