PRESS RELEASE
VANCOUVER ISLAND ECONOMIC ALLIANCE
March 2, 2012
2nd Annual Linking Island Business event in Qualicum Beach:
From 11-6 on April 11, the Vancouver Island Economic Alliance will host the Linking Island Business networking and tradeshow event at the Qualicum Beach Civic Centre.
‘Linking Island Business attracts more business and community leaders from throughout the mid-Island to network and to get information important to their business success’ says event Chair, Kim Burden, ‘We are still in the midst of finalizing this year’s program and we are happy to announce that MNP is sponsoring a session to help young entrepreneurs interested in buying businesses as well as helping existing business owners with their succession planning.’
‘Another session at the ‘Linking’ event will help business people learn how to access contract opportunities through the Major Projects Portal associated with the John Hart Dam project.’ This session will be co-presented by BC Hydro and the Campbell River Chamber of Commerce.
The Linking Island Business event is a business to business networking opportunity created in direct response to feedback given to VIEA in its ‘Link Project’ conducted throughout the mid-Island region in 2010. ‘There was overwhelming desire expressed by business owners for more opportunities for peer-to-peer business development and networking in the area’ says VIEA Chair Elect, Dave Willie. ‘Although the presentation slate is still being confirmed, tradeshow spaces are filling up quickly and registration for exhibitors and attendees is available on-line at www.viea.ca.
This year’s sponsors include Quality Foods, MNP, Island Radio, CTV, Glacier Media, ProReg, Lewis & Sears Marketing & Event Management, Wallpepper Design, Black & White Party Rental.
