Susan Mowbray, Senior Manager of Economics and Research at MNP, will present the 3rd annual State of the Island Economic Report at this year’s Summit in Nanaimo, BC. Susan is a seasoned consultant with experience managing design and delivery of economic consulting assignments including economic impact studies, labour market studies, cost studies, demand forecasting, community profile development and economic leakage studies. She has been leading the State of the Island Economic Report project since it was first produced in 2015.
A powerful tool widely used by public and private decision-makers to help inform their business choices, the Economic Report is made possible because of the initiative and sponsorship of MNP and by additional sponsorship from the Nanaimo Airport, Coastal Community Credit Union, BC Ferries, BC Hydro, and the BC Ministry of Jobs, Tourism and Skills Training.
“The Economic Report uses statistical information to show us what has happened and what it might mean in the foreseeable future, while the Economic Summit uses presentation and dialogue to expose what is happening and to explore what could be happening. We think this is a powerful combination—equipping us all with solid information as well as progressive perspective.” — George Hanson, VIEA President.
