The Sidney BIA is pleased to partner with the Vancouver Island Economic Alliance to offer local businesses free access to Island Good licensing for 2021 for the first 15 businesses to register.

What is Island Good? Island Good exists for one reason – to help increase sales and market share for Vancouver Island and Gulf Island products. The Island Good brand makes it easy for shoppers, online and in-person, to recognize Island-made products. This has proven to increase sales and market share for these products and those selling them.

The Island Good brand is designed to grow, from retail stores and cosmetics to fabricated micro-buildings and clothes, with a goal to have every Island-made product branded so locals and visitors can buy into the Island economy.

Island Good is trademarked and licensed by the Vancouver Island Economic Alliance, a non-government, non-profit, regional economic development organization serving all of Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands to help ensure a vital and sustainable Island economy.

Islanders and visitors believe in local, want to shop local, source local, and eat locally sourced food. It started with a pilot project in 2018. 45 grocery stores used the Island Good logo for six months to attract shoppers to local food products. Sales increased an average of 16.4%. Now The Island Good brand is available for everything from potatoes to airplane parts.
